Styesight/WGSN Report/Intention Statement


X-tra Style Intention Statement
Carla Buchanan/Gabrielle Jennings

            This presentation will explore the fashion predictive company “STYLESIGHT” and compare it with another predictive company called “WGSN.”  We will go more into depth beginning with the history of the companies, competitors, contact information, and costs to consumers.  Our report will explore trend updates,  flat sketches, forecasting, key people, and accessibility.
            In addition to comparing the two companies, we intend to teach our audience, FIDM students, ways that they can use STYLESIGHT and WGSN to predict fashions for their businesses.  Fashion predictions will be presented, future technology applications for each company will be explored, and industry questions will be discussed. 
            Our intention, by comparing and contrastingSTYLESIGHT and WGSN is to inform, educate, and inspire our future fashion industry colleagues to utilizeSTYLESIGHT and WGSN in their business endeavors. Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” – Coco Chanel

Conclusion: Most of the students, who participated in the survey, use the predictives for fashion, sketching, for ideas for a clothing line, and for personal use.

Conclusion: The students, who participated in the survey, were mixed on whether of not they would purchase a predictive service when they graduated.

Conclusion: Most of the students, who participated in the survey, like the flats and forecast features of the predictives.

Conclusion: Less than half of the students, that participated in the survey, have asked questions, regarding the predictives, in the FIDM library.

Conclusion/Stylesight/WGSN/FIDM predictives






Conclusion

1. Stylesight and WGSN are predictives that are available to FIDM students.
2. Stylesight and WGSN are only available online.
3. Stylesight can be accessed, through the student portal, at FIDM, or at home.
4. There are other predictive companies that are available at FIDM.

5. The predictives predict fashion trends, trade show happenings, designer updates, and flat sketches.
6. Check out the predictives in the FIDM library, ask questions!
7. Check out the predictives for interior design.
8. Use the predictives to support the work you do at FIDM, like developing color stories, flat sketching, sourcing and trade happenings.
9.Consider subscribing to a predictive, such as Stylesight or WGSN, when you graduate.
